Jerome Powell

Jerome Hayden "Jay" Powell is an American central banker who currently serves as a governor of the Federal Reserve. He was the 16th chair of the Federal Reserve from 2018 to 2026. After his term as chair ended on May 22, 2026, Powell remained a member of the Federal Reserve Board of Governors. His term as a governor runs through January 31, 2028. He was previously both a lawyer and investment banker in the private sector before entering public service.
